Silly Slime

Posted on Wednesday at 2:23

Love playing with silly slime? We found a great way for you to make your favorite slime at home :)

What you’ll need:

Equal amounts of white glue and liquid laundry starch ( it’s by the laundry products in the store). Start with about 1/2 cup of each.

How to make it:

  1. Measure equal amounts of the glue and liquid starch, about 1/2 cup to start, into a bowl.
  2. Stir thoroughly.
  3. Let rest 5 minutes.
  4. Knead it with your hands, until it comes together. Just when you think it is ruined, it suddenly turns into a wonderful long-stranded glob!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Posted on Monday at 9:55

Did you know that nearly 150 million cards are exchanged each Valentine’s Day?

Here are some fun crafts to make for your friends and family this Valentine’s Day:

The Write Card

Materials
  • Cardboard
  • Pencil (to use)
  • Colored card stock
  • Scissors
  • Markers or metallic pens
  • Stickers
  • Hole punch

Instructions
  1. Make a template for your kids to trace around: Cut out a cardboard heart.
  2. Have your child trace the heart onto card stock and cut it out.
  3. Decorate with pens and stickers.
  4. Use the hole punch to make holes on each side of the heart and slide the cool pencil through.

You Rule

Materials
  • Ruler
  • Card stock
  • Double-sided tape
  • Marker

Instructions
  1. Fold a piece of colored card stock in half. Cut a heart shape that’s about 3 inches tall through both layers, leaving the tops of the hearts connected at the fold.
  2. Place a small ruler (we got ours at larascrafts.com for 39 cents each) between the hearts and fasten the bottom of the hearts together with double-sided tape.
  3. Use pinking shears to cut a smaller heart from white card stock. Add a message with markers and attach it to the front of the valentine with double-sided tape.
